Common contact questions
Quick answers to what most contractors ask before sending us drawings. Need more info? Learn more about us or view our services.
How long does it take to get an estimate?
We acknowledge every enquiry within 2 hours during business hours (Mon–Sat). After reviewing your scope, we agree a realistic deadline with you upfront — every time. Smaller jobs can often turn around quickly; larger projects like subdivisions, pump stations or major tenders take longer to do properly. The key thing is: we tell you exactly when to expect it, and we deliver on that promise.
Do you charge for quotes?
Initial quotes are free. We'll review your drawings and provide a fixed fee for the full estimating work — no surprises, no hourly billing. Our fees are very competitive given the specialist nature of water and sewer estimating, and most estimates pay for themselves many times over by avoiding under-pricing.
What format should I send my drawings in?
PDF is preferred for ease of review, but we accept DWG, DXF, ZIP archives, and image files (PNG/JPG). Use the upload field on this form for files up to 10MB. For larger files (especially full subdivision design packages), email us a WeTransfer or Dropbox link to tenders@watersewerestimatingsydney.com.au.
Do you work on projects outside Sydney?
Yes — we work Australia-wide. While we're based in Sydney and have deep WSA code and Sydney Water Specifications expertise, our estimating service is fully digital. We've delivered estimates for projects in NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT and NT. Our methodology adapts to local authority requirements wherever your project is.
Are you Sydney Water WSA code & Sydney Water Specifications fluent?
Absolutely. We work to the WSA Code (Water Services Association of Australia) as the national baseline, layered with Sydney Water Specifications on metro Sydney jobs. Sydney Water DTC (Deemed-to-Comply) drawings sit within this framework and are part of our daily work — both water and sewer. We're fluent with handle bar configurations, 12U and 12R concrete encasement, MSCL water main specifications, sewer rising mains, and all related authority requirements. If your project involves Sydney Water, you're talking to specialists.
Can I get a quick rate without sending drawings?
For quick machine hire rates, try our free machine hire rate calculator — instant wet and dry hire rates for 73 machines. For project estimates, we need drawings to give you accurate pricing. We'd rather give you the right number once than a rough guess that costs you money.
